United Racking Horse Owners an Exhibitors Association

The High Point Committee would like to ask members to bring items to donate to the “Farm Barrow” that we will be selling tickets on throughout the season to the Newport Lions Club show in Newport on May 16, 2009.

Swinton and Linda Crider and Josie Smith and her mom  are donating a wheel barrow.   We need donated items that you would use at your barn every day;  things like a muck fork, hoof pick, feed scoop, etc.  We would love to have any gift certificates that you might be able to donate as well. 

We will also be raffling off food tables at the Celebration.  Friday night’s table will be a snack table with drinks and various homemade treats.  Saturday night’s table will be fully catered meal with desserts and drinks for 8 people.  

Ken and Elaine Estes have donated a breeding to The Specialist who is stabled at WaterFall Farms.  This breeding is valued at $1,700.00.  See any High Point Committee Member for a ticket.  These are selling for $20.00 each.

We will be having a bake sale at the Waynesville Lions Club Horse Show as we did last year.  We are asking members to bring homemade baked goods to this show.  This was a huge success last year and we hope that folks will donate items again. 

Jamie Green will be assisting us with fund raising this year and will head up our “People’s Choice” award fund raiser.  To enter the People’s Choice contest, you will need to send/bring us a picture of your horse (no larger than 5x7)with a $5.00 entry fee.  Folks will have the opportunity to “vote” for their favorite horse by placing pennies in boxes underneath their choice. The winner of the People’s Choice” will be announced at the Celebration and will receive a cash award.

Given the fact that we are having to enter the DQP station with no saddle, the committee is considering having a group of folks that will assist exhibitors with saddles, watching chain carts, holding horses, providing rides on golf carts etc. at the celebration for a small fee with proceeds going to the High Point Program and a percentage going to the club that volunteers to run this service.
